Mission
The mission of the Ohana Preschool is to provide safe, affordable, high quality child care families in the South Orange County area. In doing so, Ohana Preschool provides an early childhood development program that supports families in their efforts to reach their goals. Ohana Preschool provides a cognitively based program for children ages eight weeks to six years. We provide an environment where children are encouraged to develop at their own pace.
Philosophy
Ohana Preschool is dedicated to provide an environment that is reliable, protected, inspiring, and educational (enlightening) in today’s society. We vow to offer all of this through our curriculum. Here at Ohana Preschool, we believe that each child is a unique individual. We have designed our program to ensure that it meets the needs of every child. Our program encompasses all aspects of a child’s needs including socio-emotional, cognitive, and physical needs.
Our curriculum is an emergent based curriculum based on many theorists, such as the Russian psychologist Lev Vygotsky who pioneered the study of child development and developmental psychology. Lev Vygotsky was one of the first child developer researchers who theorized that every child learns by doing.
